Not all illuminator's are created equal. Some twinkle, other shoot, and some even change colors. One thing all illuminators have in common is they produce a light that travels the length of the cable and exits as a starpoint. Even with long cable runs a small illuminator is able to produce a ton of light! In the end, you just want to make sure your stars and not too bright and not too dim. With the right illuminator it should be just right.
